Ahhh, I still can remember those carefree summer days as a child.
I’m sitting shotgun outside Flints BBQ in my pop’s idling ’75 Cutlass, the radio tuned to sports legend Bill King. And at that moment, I’m hit with the scent of mesquite fueled smoke billowing from above.
Like most Sundays, my dad would roll up to Flints on Shattuck Ave to pick up a full slab, hot links, and extra wonder bread to soak up all the goodness. By the time we made it home, my lips were smoking hot, with half the links already in my belly.
These summer memories are the heart of Oakland Dust.
I built this dream on my love affair of all foods and the city I proudly call home – Oakland, California.
